Did you know that being in nature for just 20 minutes improves your health, according to Richard Ryan, Ph.D. professor of psychology at the University of Rochester, New York. You can increase your level of improvement even more through the action of keeping a nature journal. While nature journaling, your left side of the brain is working, and your right side is open to creativity and observations of the environment around you. Journaling is known to provide a calming effect, which is another factor that will improve your mental and physical wellbeing.
Nature Journaling is a simple practice to start. All you need is a journal and writing utensil. For crafting an effective nature journal, start by recording your immediate observations as you relax in nature. Provide details of what your senses are noticing. Spend a substantial amount of time recognizing signs of wildlife, and record that. You can gather things like leaves or twigs to store in your journal. Feel free to create drawings of your surroundings or craft some poems.
For additional content, you can follow this prompt we crafted-
Locate something in nature that you find beautiful. Once you’ve located it, record the following; why you think it’s beautiful, what features or characteristics stand out, how you could incorporate something like this in your own home, and try to sketch it.
Good luck with your nature journaling. You’re on the path to feeling better.
