Some Answers to Life’s Question (Or at Least What We Think They Are)

Hello and welcome to the final blog of the UVM Thrive Guide’s 2022 campaign! It has been an exciting month, and we hope you feel more connected to your UVM and greater Burlington community! Seniors, we bid you farewell, and know that you will do great things wherever you end up next. Underclassmen, remember those questions you asked us way back when? We do, and we have some answers!

What is our favorite way to connect with our UVM community?

For team leader Georgia, it is Burlington’s skate community. She found a home away from home there and made many wonderful friends. For brand manager Moses, he loves his ultimate frisbee team. He is ‘happiest when throwing pieces of plastic at friends”. There are many great groups and organizations to connect with, both through UVM and in the greater Burlington community!

Is it hard to stay in touch with friends when moving off campus?

For me personally, moving off campus really solidified who my friends were. When you don’t live together, you have to work to spend time with each other. I naturally found the group of people that I wanted to spend my free time with. Having houses is also a big plus! Dinner parties are not just something your parents host anymore! And cooking a meal with friends has become one of my favorite activities.

What is our favorite group we joined at UVM?

Graphic designer Amanda’s favorite group is the FOUR office right here on campus! She works there helping students get funding for research, and says she feels her best when helping her fellow UVM community!
